Pleasant 17th century coaching inn, originally known as the “Halfway Inn” until the adjacent Blacksmiths forge gained precedence with a name change. This pub is hard to miss when approaching Cowes, as it stands on the junction at Northwood with traffic lights and a large garage ahead. There is a large car park, a proper public bar with pool and darts, and a saloon bar that boasts a glass-covered well with fish. Sports TV in both bars and Pool Table in the public ba. Doggy bar snacks are offered.
October 2022 update: Cask ale may not be available, bottled only. Closing time will vary depending on footfall; hours shown are derived from the pub's Facebook where they just say 'late'.
