This Pub is Permanently Closed
The Lamb was a large community local dating from 1763. It had successively been part of the estate of Gravesend brewers Wood's and Russell's before passing to Truman's with their takeover of Russell's in 1930. By the time the most recent photograph was taken it had become somewhat dilapidated, having no doubt had the threat of demolition hanging over it for some years prior to its closure in 1995 to 'improve' the local road network. A sad loss for the local Charles Street community.
