This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Chequers was a picturesque village inn that traded unmolested for more than 450 years. The photo's suggest that in the early 20th century it had been part of the Dartford Brewery tied estate, eventually passing to Style and Winch and then Courage on successive takeovers. Sadly for the village, the owners decided to flog it off in 2010 and it is now private housing.
