Lively and popular pub with two separate drinking areas served by a single bar. Tiled or wooden floors with a large real fire in the main room. Live music monthly and terrestrial sport TV in bar area. Occasional quiz nights. Regular food menu plus daily specials (see chalk board) and themed food nights. Historic Interest
Some of the building dates from the 16th century, with much subsequent work. A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 03 Jun in 1837 stated that Robert Koipe COBBOLD of the Eye Brewery was retiring from business & was looking to sell various Inns & Public Houses including the Angel, Debenham.
