This Pub is Closed Long Term
The pub is named after the town’s founder and is decorated with pictures of the Airdrie of yesteryear. The entrance and bar are on the ground floor. There are tables and more private seating areas on the middle floor and there is a quiet lounge, complete with leather settees at the top. The pub was originally part of the Wetherspoon chain but it has since been sold. The new owners removed real ale from the beer menu but the handpumps were put back to use in 2019, and retired again after the Covid lockdown.
