This Pub is Closed Long Term
The name of this open plan Wetherspoon's recalls the Reverend Thomas Wilkinson, who was vicar at St Chad's, Kirkby, in the 1760s. Buried in Kirkby, he invented the Gold Balance and the Pocket Balance for weighing sovereigns. Busy during the days especially during meal club nights.
Although a modern development, Kirkby has ancient origins. A chapel dedicated to St Chad was built here in the days of Alfred, the Saxon king, which was replaced in the 1760s.
Alcohol served from 9am. Children MUST vacate by 8pm.
