An Indian Gastro Pub (Nottingham's newest mixed grill and live sports pub). Large open plan, airy interior with modern furnishings and separate restaurant. Tables and benches outside for al fresco dining.
Historic Interest
Originally known as the Maypole, this pub was built for Home Brewery to a design by architects Cecil Howitt & Partners dated October 1966. Entrance into a single curved structure giving on to terraces at either side, with service area as at present, and tenant's accommodation behind and above. These parts are all of brick but the main pub is a laminated timber structure roofed with copper faced felt on boarding. The plans show no kitchen for the pub but there is a manager's office, set on the ground floor and separate from the tenant's accommodation above. The exterior retains some charm but the interior is now largely a restaurant and there have been extensive alterations. These include extensions to form conservatories to front and rear, a pergola extension to St. Ervan Road and an extension to the car park approved in May 1988 and new entrance doors and glazing in 2011 (Elain Harwood / Historic England).
