Bar part of Strathdon Hotel near the Nottingham Playhouse, Cathedral and Parliament Street. Mainly catering for hotel guests, but open the the general public with pool, sky sports and traditional pub meals available. Free of tie, Nottingham EPA has been the popular choice the bar currently serves.
Historic Interest
Built in 1969 on the site of the old Albert Hotel (www.peelhotels.co.uk). Previous bars here have been called the Captain's Locker, with ship's stern cabin effect and the Boston Bean Company. The current incarnation, Bar 44, presumably takes its name from the hotel's address at 44 Derby Road.
As at November 2017, the freehold for the Strathdon Hotel (NT408084) was held by J. Walster Limited [Reg. No. 1889092].
