This Pub is Permanently Closed

A once popular roadside pub which thrived when the local steelworks was open and when it has a bookmakers alongside it. It had a traditional public bar and a comfortable lounge which gave access to a patio and canal-side garden which could be accessed from the tow path. A couple of attempts to revive its fortunes were unfortunately unsuccessful and so it closed. It was rumoured to become a mini market but this didn't come to fruition. Severe fire damage in early August 2014 may have sealed the fate of the building.
