This deceptively spacious pub reopened as a sports orientated bar in December 2025. The premises are all on one level and totally step free. Inside it is long and deep with a relatively short glazed frontage, which also has a covered external seating area.

Historic Interest
The pub’s name references the historic nearby road to Rye in Sussex, a former important coaching route. The original house, around which the premises have expanded, is believed to date from the late 17th century. The premises were first operated as a pub by JD Wetherspoon in May 2000 up until its closure in August 2024.
