Reopened in early October 2017 as Mc & Sons following an extended period of closure since June 2015, the former Charles Dickens is now operated by Windmill Taverns. The interior has been completely refurbished with fittings salvaged from closed pubs. Thai food is provided in keeping with other pubs in the group. As of 2024, the handpumps have been removed and this no longer sells real ale.
