Reopened March 2019 by Tiny Dancer Group, their first pub.
Pub given a very modern refurbishment during winter 2016 and some original features sadly lost. Tiled scene remains in main bar depicting a Ploughman and ox with plough. All original partitions removed during 1980s. BrewDog ran the pub until May 2017.

Grade II-listed ex-Truman's pub from 1898. Converted to a wine bar, then BBQ house, and rescued in 2013 by a forward-thinking consortium of Alan Day, James Steel, David Beech and Lawrence Webster, backed by Pete Hills of Hackney Brewery. Stripped back interior with polished wooden floors, new marble bar top but some surviving original features e.g. bar back and some Victorian cut glass panels. Splendid original tiled scene in entrance lobby depicting ploughman and ox in a field. Simple furniture and cafe style tables. Real fire in winter. Some major sporting events shown on big screen. 3 varying hand-pulled beers from local breweries including at least one from Hackney Brewery. Redemption, One Mile End and Five Points are regular guests. DJs on weekends playing vinyl. Simple food menu. Sister pub to the Plough at Swan Wharf.
