This Pub is Permanently Closed

Locals’ pub situated very close to the city centre and serving one real ale, Courage Best Bitter. Sadly, the pub closed in July 2012. Three planning applications had been submitted to demolish the pub between August 2010 and August 2011.

Finally, planning application ref no 13/00377/FUL, dated Mon 04 Mar 2013, proposed Change of use of public house to 3 cluster flats and 2 bedsits providing a total of 16 student bedspaces, was granted conditionally on 01/05/2013. Scaffolding was erected in June 2013 and the pub was converted into student flats in July 2013.
