The Brown Cow is a dog friendly pub located in the heart of the Burrs Country Park, with walks along the riverside offering great views of both natural and industrial history. Three handpumps (4 at busy times) serve one permanent beer (Costa Del Salford) and a couple of guest ales. There is a large beer garden, giving views of passing steam trains on the East Lancashire Railway. Good choice of bar meals with locally sourced food. There is also a small function room available upstairs. The pub is at the entrance to a caravan club site (no tents) which is open all year round. There is Burrs Country Park Halt on the ELR at the rear of the pub for those who want a nostalgic train ride to the pub.
