A vibrant town centre pub, dating from the late 17th century and grade 2 listed. There is a large main room, a snug bar ( quiet ) to the rear and a separate games room. Two rotating guest ales are offered in the snug. Accommodation is available on a room only basis. Pub teams participate in local darts, dominos and pool leagues. To the rear is a smoking area in the beer yard.
