Previously named the Prince Alfred after the second son of Queen Victoria, who visited the area as a 12 year old in 1856. A Greene King house that offers up to five beers with two coming from the Greene King stable and three other changing beers from the SIBA list. Staff and customers give visitors a friendly welcome. The spacious interior has various different areas in which to sit and relax. Outside there is a heated, non-smoking, non-vaping area which includes a big screen. There are many interesting and historic local photographs around the walls. The food is inexpensive, being innovative, tasty and well prepared. The pub is dog friendly. Outside is a patio area with covered seating for dining and drinking alfresco. TV screens showing both Sky and TNT Sports are sited at various positions around the pub.
This pub opens at 9am to serve breakfast Friday to Sunday.
Some of the events are community events like a dog walk on Sunday and a Mum and Baby morning on Monday.
