Built by the London & South Western Railway on its arrival in the town as the South Western Hotel.
Now known as Tracks it reopened in March 2024 following a £265,000 refurbishment. According to initial publicity "the aim is for the pub to become a central part of town’s music scene, hosting music four times a week including an acoustic evening, karaoke, an open mic night showcasing local up-and-coming talent and live bands on weekends spanning all genres from music to soul. In addition, rock and roll bingo and quiz nights are on the cards.
"Inside the redecoration will include new furniture, flooring and lighting aiming to make the venue more contemporary, welcoming and comfortable. The large wooden bar will be reduced in size to increase capacity on performance nights and a high-spec sound system will be installed to improve the acoustics."
