A traditional locals' pub nestling behind the Waterside Bistro on the eastern side of the River Tyne, where a footbridge gives direct access to the town. The bar, with jugs, bottles and mirrors adorning the walls, has a horseshoe counter, pool table and a dartboard. The spacious lounge acts mainly as a popular restaurant and function room. Food is served all day on Saturdays and until 7pm on Sundays with children's options available. The pub is renowned for providing generous portions.
