The Red Lion Inn is a traditional-style roadhouse located outside the village of Todwick. Originally a farm, the pub dates back to 1838 and for many years was known as Mary Ellen's after a landlady who was renowned for her hospitality. Today the pub, which is on two levels, has retained much of its old character having oak beams, flagstone flooring and real fires lit in winter. In December 2022 it was refurbished and branded a Chef & Brewer outlet. Food is served from an extensive menu and can be eaten in the restaurant, elsewhere in the pub or on the patio, weather permitting. Breakfast is served from 9.30am. A hotel extension has been added in recent years. In keeping with other Greene king managed pubs, a 10% discount on real ales is offered to CAMRA members.
