Country Inn in a grade II listed Georgian manor house, the former home of the 1st Earl of Strafford Sir Thomas Wentworth. Reopened in early July 2022 following extensive refurbishment by Stonegate and under new management. Now has four real ales on the bar and changing guest beers can be from local or far further afield breweries. Prices for the real ale have actually fallen since reopening. Offers an extensive food menu throughout the day. Situated in the centre of the village on the main A630 between Rotherham and Doncaster, next to St John the Baptist Church and opposite Manor Gardens Nursery. An outside terrace at the rear of the pub over looks open fields and hedges. The pub was Saved from closure and conversion to old folks home in 1994. Camping is available at the nearby Hooton Lodge.
