Please note this Pub is closed 01/01/2020 and became Closed Long Term 01/01/2020 (Closed, future uncertain). Closure date is uncertain though sometime in 2020 is possible. A 2021 planning application for change of use to a flatted dwelling house 21/0131/FUL was refused on the grounds of it being a 'loss of a community facility' and that the pub had not marketed for sufficient length of time. At the time of the application the owner of the pub 'did not want to sell the property and as he owns another public house within Lochmaben therefore he was best served to judge on the viability of the business. It was felt that a regional or national marketing campaign would not suit the property or Lochmaben'. The associated Listed Building Consent for the conversion works was passed and images show that this has been carried out.
