One of Dorbiere's four Stafford pubs the Metropolitan Bar is a popular and friendly community pub catering for all ages. Originally named the Gate for the turnpike gates blocking the two roads at the junction, it was rebuilt in 1934 for Ind Coope and renamed when taken over by the Dorbiere Pub Co in 1999. The refurbishment that took place in 1999 slightly opened up the interior but the former lounge still retains original 1934 features including wainscoting, doors, the inglenook and a skylight. The jukebox is free from 5pm-11pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and there is karaoke on Yuesday and Sunday evenings The guest beer is often Wadworth 6X.
