A family (and dog) friendly, country pub environment for locals and 'not so locals', including boaters on the nearby Trent and Mersey canal, to enjoy. Home cooked, wholesome and flavoured food freshly cooked, along with an array of real-ales and a big, sunny beer garden to match. The name of the pub commemorates the grant of a Saracens Head crest to local landowner Lord Ferrers during the Third Crusade. Diners can enjoy views over open countryside and watch the pub's llamas grazing in the adjacent field. Drinkers can make themselves at home in the comfortable bar with log fires in the winter. Grill night Wednesdays, traditional Sunday lunches, and fish & chips. Breakfast is served from 8.30-10.30. There is a Yappy Meals menu for dogs with a choice of 3 main course dishes, two desserts and either Pawsecco or Bottom Sniffer Dog Beer for £9.95. The changing beer is often from a local brewery. A major refurbishment was carried out in 2017.
