Established in the 1930’s and primarily for the employees of Greenall’s Brewery it consisted of a football and cricket pitch, tennis courts and a bowling green. When the brewery closed in 1991 the majority of the land was sold for housing development and the club bought the building and some land. In 2019 the remaining bowling green and former tennis court were sold to housing developers enabling the proceeds to be used to completely renovate the club. Completed in 2023 and making it the modern facility of today.
The club has a spacious lounge with contemporary furnishings and satellite TV. There is also a games room with two snooker tables, two dart boards and more screens all with access to Sky Sports.
Alongside the lounge area there is a large modern function room with separate bar, this has a capacity for 140 people. There is also private car parking spaces for up to 30 vehicles.
