Unpretentious suburban pub, friendly atmosphere, attracting customers of all ages. Narrow front bar area, with more secluded seating to the side of the bar and a pool table at the back. Situated in a heavily built-up area, thus very limited parking. Occasional live music. TV sports and all pub games played. There is a Golf Society which has its own noticeboard. Opens at 11am on Shrewsbury FC home match days. Cask beer reduced on Wed. 3-5.
Historic Interest
The civil engineer responsible for building the Masonic was Daniel Climie, who was also involved in the building of the stations on the Shrewsbury to Crewe railway line in the 1850s. It was once owned by local brewery Trouncers before becoming part of the M&B empire for much of the 20th century.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 2 regular beers.
