This Pub is Permanently Closed

Formerly called the Baron of Beef, the pub's publicity suggests it to be "Shropshire's Hidden Gem". It is certainly an unexpected and interesting find in a rather sleepy South Shropshire village. Internally the ambience is comfort, elegance and an imaginative and tasteful modernisation of an old building. Indeed it only started life as a pub in 1986 when it was converted from a former smallholding. It is a pretty spacious place with the galleried Cider Mill Restaurant being the most striking room, with an old cider mill and press as its centrepiece. Additionally, there's a conservatory, the recently refurbished lounge bar, and the Stable Bar which serves as the public bar. The Wye Valley beer varies and the guest beer is usually local. The pub is on walk numbers 9 to12 in the Walking with Offa series.

Closing permanently July 30th 2023.
