This extensive roadside pub has a substantial food presence. It is run by Bridgehouse brewery, serving as their brewery tap as the brewery is situated behind the pub. The pub is named after the famous Airedale Heifer cow of the early 1800s, which is still on record as the heaviest cow in the UK. Note the statue at the front! The open-plan layout revolves around a single L-shaped bar and the pub is furnished informally for relaxed eating or drinking. The food is of a high standard and many dishes feature the brewery's beers. There is a sizeable, south-facing garden with patio heaters in winter. Children are welcome until 8 pm, later if dining. The building retains two interesting Heys (a long-closed Bradford brewery) leaded windows - see pictures - these are hidden by a blind from the inside, but are visible from the garden; Victory was a Heys bottled beer. Cask Ale Monday - all cask beers discounted. Brewery Tours available. Brewhouse Gin distilled in the brewery.
