This Pub is Closed Long Term
Traditional public house in Deal's conservation area.
Closed: May 2023. Planning application for change of use to residential: 23/01128. Granted 20/03/2024.
Dating back to the early 19th century this cosy, community pub is situated a short distance north of Deal's town centre.
The large L-shaped bar, wooden floors, bench seating and lots of mirrors give the pub's interior a pleasant feel to it.
There's always one ale from Shepherd Neame's range, plus an occasional second beer.
Tuesday night is pie night. On Friday and Saturday it's smashed steak burgers & German sausage and there's a traditional roast on Sunday. Breakfasts are served on Saturday and Sunday morning from 8.00am. All ingredients are locally sourced.
At the back there is a courtyard garden, a pleasant place for a drink or two while soaking up the sun and sea air.
Events at the pub vary from regular live music to monthly quizzes.
Although the pub is not fully wheel-chair friendly, a ramp is available giving access to the bar.
