This lively village local is used by a good cross-section of the community, and supportive of the local sports teams. The pub, constructed mostly of granite in typical Cornish style, was originally purpose-built as an extension to a farmhouse, to serve the drinking needs of local tin miners at the end of the 19th century. The original bar and lounge (note the separate twin doors, still in operation) have been opened out to form one U-shaped drinking area, while a more modern extension towards the rear houses the pool table, beyond which is a small outside patio area. Good value pub meals are served daily. The weekday daytime buses stop nearby.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 3 regular beers.
