This Free House is one of the oldest pubs in Highworth. The inside features wooden beams decorated with old adverting signs, and a Penny-farthing, on the walls. There are five handpumps serving three changing ales and two Sharp's regulars. The friendly staff makes it popular with locals and visitors alike. The lunch menu is good quality and value. Open from 9am for breakfast Tuesday - Friday, but no alcoholic drinks before 9.30am. Occasional folk sessions are hosted. At the back there is a large garden with a Boules pitch.

Historic Interest

The earliest known property deed is dated 1768, when it was sold for £25, including its brewhouse. Ushers bought it in 1991. A free House since June 2014.
