This country pub, close to the village church and located within the Clwydian Range, is also reputedly one of the highest pubs in Wales, set 1148ft above sea level. It has a separate area for diners. One or two guest ales are available, usually sourced from local microbreweries.

Since the retirement of the long serving landlady, as of 1st April 2026 now a community run pub.

Active Campaign

With the prospect of the current pub owner planning to retire, a community group started to explore the option of a community purchase in June 2023. The formed a Community Benefit Society (The Sun Inn Community Pub Ltd). In Dec 2023 they were awarded £292,000 from the Community Ownership Fund. The current pub owner has now decided to continue to operate the pub, and so the project to buy the pub is now on hold.
