The Brownlow Inn is a very popular and busy, food orientated, pub attracting visitors from a wide area whilst still retaining the feel of a local. The main dining area is tastefully furnished in a modern style and there are excellent views across the surrounding Cheshire and Staffordshire countryside. The separate bar area is decorated with sports memorabilia reflecting the owners love of Rugby Union and links to South Africa. There is also a glass panel in the floor where the (very well trodden) steps to a now unused cellar can be seen. The food is of a very high standard with ingredients sourced locally where possible. Homemade pies and steaks, cured in the pubs own dry curing facility, are on the menu alongside some interesting international offerings and pub classics. Three cask ales are served and there is always one beer from nearby Beartown brewery. Locally brewed lagers and craft beers also feature as well as more familiar offerings. The surrounding countryside means the pub is very popular with walkers and cyclists and nearby 16th century Little Moreton Hall (National Trust) also attracts visitors to the area and to the Brownlow. Booking is recommended for diners.
