The pub has strong sporting connections and is one of the oldest in Wakefield and has had the same name since 1882. A former Tetley Heritage pub, comprising four cosy rooms, two are available mid-week for private functions at no charge; a family room is available until 8 pm. When the tap-room had a door, this had a sign saying "Gents Only. As the pub does no food you were welcome to bring reasonable food in but if it was fish & chips or a curry you'd have been expected to eat them in the beer garden!
This Pub serves no changing beers and 2 regular beers.
