Constructed in 1899 to cater to the newly established Market Place Railway Station, this establishment bears the name of the Duke of Portland, as the railway ran through his estate. Currently operated by JD Wetherspoon, the hotel boasts a mock-Tudor facade and a large interior and exterior seating area that gets very busy due to its central town location. With three consistent beers and a rotating selection of up to six guest beers, frequently sourced from local breweries, the pub opens daily at 7am for breakfast, with the bar open from 9am.
This Pub serves 6 changing beers and 3 regular beers.
