A quiet traditional pub on a hillside on the main road through Pontyates. It has a fairly large and comfortable single room bar area with timber beams and strips in the walls, plenty of seating areas and a large fireplace. A separate restaurant area is adjacent to the bar.

Re-opened in Autumn 2025 with a new restaurant and bar menu. Booking is advised.
