This Pub is Closed Long Term

On the Roman road from Canterbury to Hythe, the Chequers was built in 1898. The bar area has comfortable leather sofas. Public transport is by bus and is very limited. Closed in May 2019 and there were fears for its future. Re-opened in May 2022 to the relief of locals. Closed again from February 2024
