Period building, much of it dating from the 16th & 17th century, but the earliest parts go back to the 14th century. Has low ceilings and exposed beams, extended over the centuries, with seating on different levels. The pub restaurant dates from Tudor times and has retained many original features. 2025 refurb sees refresh of pub’s interior, with new furniture, décor and an extended bar area, plus garden transformation with new furniture, lighting and over 100 additional seats.
Most of the pub is given to dining, but there is a small but comfortable bar area to one side. There are four hand pumps and the beer selection is from the Greene King range.
Brunch served at the weekends.
The large garden overlooks the Green and is very popular in the summer.
