This Pub is Closed Long Term

Closed since 2007, this fine old pub is currently being renovated and has had kit installed for it to become a brewpub. The beers will be crafted under the name Margate Brewery. It would seem likely to open sometime in 2026.

Historic Interest

In 1869 at least the rear of th building was advertsied as a wine lodge "serving pure wines from the wood" plus "old bonded spirits."
