What was the first Brewery Tap from Manchester's Blackjack Brewery is located inside the renovated and relaunched Altrincham Market House, part of Altrincham's historic market and a short walk from Altrincham's transport interchange.
The market underwent a transformation when control was passed from the council to Market Operations Ltd in September 2013. In September 2014 the former indoor market reopened having been reinvented as a food court housing a number of food & drink specialists including Blackjack whose bar occupies one corner of the hall.
There are six handpumps on the bar, with 10 fonts for keg beers on the back bar. Blackjack beers are of course always available but guests also feature. A wide range of cans from Blackjack and others are available.
For the Cider buffs there is usually "Holmes Chapel Apple" from Sida, Holmes Chapel.
Soft drinks from the local Steep Soda are available.
Wines and spirits are available from the neighbouring Reserve Wines bar with Market House Coffee and Sam Joseph supplying supply other drinks.
As a food court, the central seating area and outside terrace is shared amongst all the outlets.
As of February 2026, these were:
The Great North Pie Co
Rubens Meze
Honest Crust Pizza
Tender Cow (burgers and steaks)
Pico's Tacos
Foot ordering is via mobile accessible web page with QR codes on every table.
Entrance to the market house is via steps from Greenwood Street or a level entrance on Market Street. When the adjacent outdoor covered market is open, there is a third entrance to/from the market.
There is a large outside covered terrace on the Shaw's Road side of the hall, accessed from inside the hall.
There is no smoking or vaping on the terrace. Sand buckets are provided either side of both main entrances for smokers.
*** Card or Contactless payment only ***
There are also Blackjack Brew Co bars at Manchester's Mackie Mayor and Macclesfield's Picturedrome which follow a similar format to Altrincham Market Hall.
