This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.
The Club was established in 1925 to encourage long-distance yacht racing and moved into its present building in 1942. It is the principal organiser of UK offshore yacht races including the Admiral's Cup and Fastnet Race.
The clubhouse is in a Georgian townhouse and facilities include a dining room, bar, and accommodation. It is open all the time but bar hours are restricted, see website. There is another clubhouse in Cowes. Membership, as might be expected, comes from those in the long-distance yachting world or who support the Club's objectives.
