Occupying an imposing corner site, and for a long period classified as a restaurant, this venue now describes itself as "a modern tavern where good food, great drinks, and a warm community come together under one roof."
There is a pub/restaurant on the ground floor and an evening cocktail bar upstairs. On the ground floor there is a centrally sited bar, and you can drink without needing to eat. Note weekday restricted opening hours.
Reported to be largely younger customers, and with sometimes-loud ambient music in the bar.
Historic Interest
Built in 1905 and once owned by the Canon Brewery. It closed and was gutted in 2006 reopening by November 2009 as a restaurant owned by Jasper Gorst.
