This Pub is Closed Long Term

Reported closed Oct 2014. Hoardings announced residential development June 2015. The planning app is for development above ground floor level with a pub being retained on the ground floor.

Westminster City Council was conducting an enforcement investigation as at Feb 2023 for unlawful change of use to retail. Various online photos show retail use of site since 2021.

Planning app 22/05629/FULL is for Use of basement and ground floors as a retail shop (Class E) and installation of six new air conditioning units in the rear lightwell.

Application REFUSED as at 2 Aug 2023. "The change of use has resulted in the loss of a public house, and the market evidence submitted does not demonstrate that the premises has been marketed as a public house for a period of 18 months . This would not meet Policy 16B of the City Plan 2019 - 2040 (April 2021 which protects public houses. The proposal is also contrary to policy HC7 London Plan and the advice contained in the National Planning Policy Framework."

Site is now the Noor Quality Food Centre. The complicated planning background to this site was last described in planning app 24/04385/FULL
