This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Rising Sun appeared in each of the Good Beer Guide’s editions of 1975, 1976, 1977, 1979 and 1980. The 1976 entry reads:

“Charrington (H)

In a quiet residential street”.

The first picture shows the pub in its heyday: Rising Sun, St Mary Cray by National Brewery Heritage Trust - National Brewery Heritage Trust, United Kingdom - CC BY-SA. The picture was taken as part of an architectural survey by the Charrington Brewery.
