Built in 1845 in anticipation of the opening of the London, Brighton and South Coast railway. A long narrow pub with four rooms and one bar. On the Harveys estate from 1906 until 2012, now a free house jointly owned with the Ram Inn at Firle. Bare boards and Bistro style food. Large garden with excellent views over to Mount Caburn and the South Downs. Guest beers are from Sussex Micros. Next to Glynde Station.
Reported closed Jan 2017 - future unknown.
May 2025 - work under way to re-open the pub, possibly in 4 - 5 weeks time. Premises licence has been granted by the local council with opening hours of 10.00 - 23.00 Mon - Sun.
