THIS PUB WAS CLOSED DOWN IN OCTOBER 2022 AND SOLD. PLANNING PERMISSION (REF. 23/00087/FUL) FOR CHANGE OF USE TO A RESIDENTIAL DWELLING WAS GRANTED BY CITY OF BRADFORD MDC ON 27 JUL 2023. IN DEC 2024, A PLANNING APPLICATION (REF. 24/04707/FUL) WAS SUBMITTED TO CHANGE THE PROPERTY INTO A HOUSE OF MULTIPLE OCCUPATION (HMO)! THIS WAS GRANTED IN OCT 2025.

When visited in Dec 2025, the building had been partially converted and then boarded up.

The description of the former pub is given below:

Ex-Melbourne pub with a gem of an interior. Although it has been partly opened out in the past, many historic features remain including many leaded windows externally and internally and ornate woodwork. The interior comprises an opened-out lounge area containing the bar with a separate room to the front. There is also a small snug area to the rear with a serving hatch from the bar.
