A comfortable bar on the cobbled market place of 'the gateway to the Dales'. Up to four beers are on offer, all from the Marston group. There is live music every Friday night in the knocked-through front bar, while a conservatory to the rear forms a lounge and eating area, and there is a pleasant beer garden to the rear. A few hundred yards away, the Wensleydale Railway's Bedale station offers regular heritage trains along the picturesque dale.

On Monday and Tuesday evenings cask ales are sold at reduced prices.

Tenants also run the nearby Three Coopers.
