This unusual triangular-shaped lively sports-orientated locals pub was built in the late 1800s and named after the Great Northern Railway which once operated nearby. There are three linked rooms: a smart lounge at the apex of the pub (with framed local railway/transport prints on walls), a pool room in the centre, and a cosy snug beyond. The car park at the side is very small (4/5 cars), behind which is an enclosed beer garden, part paved, part grassed. Food is limited to filled cobs on Burton Albion match days (whose Pirelli Stadium is ~400m distant), but buffets can be prearranged for special events. Opens 4.30pm Fridays in summer.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
