5/12/2025 - PLEASE CHECK OPENING TIMES ON FACEBOOK AS PREMISES HAS A NEW LICENSEE AND TIMES MAY CHANGE AT SHORT NOTICE UNTIL THEY HAVE SETTLED IN PROPERLY. NO FOOD INITIALLY BUT LIKELY TO CHANGE.

A traditional country inn dating from 1730 in the village centre. There are three interconnecting rooms, with old pictures and items of local history on display. One of the handpumps always serves a LocAle. The wide ranging pub food includes gluten free/vegetarian options. Monthly music quiz (Sun). Occasional live music. Car park and decked sitting area to the rear. Daytime buses between York and Easingwold. Welcomes cyclists as it is very close to designated cycle routes.
