No Real Ale Available, Bolton Light Cinema is the first town centre cinema to be built in over fifty years and is one of nine in the country operated by this independent, digital cinema operator, and opened in Oct. 2016. The nine screens range in size from seating 65 to 265. You can park for FREE in the Market Place Car Park by validating the parking token at the box office when purchasing your cinema ticket/s. There are great deals available when visiting in the mornings and at weekends when watching the children's films, as well as offers after signing up to 'my light' on line. It's a social cinema showing some seven to twelve different films per day and 30-35 showings/day. Both Mainstream and Independent films as well as Dementia friendly, signed films and National Theatre productions are shown. You can even hire a screen for private parties, meetings, presentations etc and show your own graphics/slide shows/Power Point presentations etc on the big screen via a computer. The usual cinema foods/drinks are available and alcoholic drinks from the bar are permitted to be consumed whilst watching a film! The bar area in spacious and comfortable and open to all without having to take in a film. There are large artistic wall murals depicting heroic movie characters in the foyer. The staff are both friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable about the films. Nearest Cask Ale outlets are two floors below in the Vaults!
