Historic Interest

In May 1981 this was a Tetley Keg pub. It was not listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as it was still only selling keg beer, however the pub was refurbished in the summer of 1989 and started selling Tetley Mild and Bitter and Ind Coope Burton Ale. It was listed in the 1992 Great North Western Beer Festival programme as selling Tetley Mild and Bitter and Boddingtons Bitter. In Winter 1993 it was mentioned as selling Tetley Bitter, Boddingtons Bitter and guests. It was included in the 1994 and 1995 Good Beer Guide. It is mentioned near the end of the Fred Dibnah Railway Collections TV Programme from 2009 on the Great Central Railway in Loughborough. Fred is drinking a can of Guinness at the time!
